Our Story
Tandem Projects was established in 2022, but our story started long before that…
Between us, we bring over 38 years of combined experience in construction, with a shared passion for working with our hands and producing quality craftsmanship that lasts. Adrian began his journey in the industry with a small builder in Stanwell Park, learning the fundamentals of residential construction before expanding into the commercial space—working on factories, car dealerships, and a wide range of projects that built his depth of experience.
Michael’s path started under Adrian himself, completing his carpentry apprenticeship alongside him. That working relationship became the foundation of what Tandem Projects is today—built on trust, shared standards, and a commitment to doing things properly.
From the beginning, we’ve both taken pride in the end product. Not just how a home looks, but how it feels for the people living in it. We understand that building or renovating isn’t just a construction project—it’s a personal and often emotional journey for our clients. That’s why we focus just as much on communication and experience as we do on the physical build. Like any builder, we’ve faced challenges along the way. This has pushed us to be as proactive, decisive and accountable with how we manage our third parties as we can. Keeping momentum on site and maintaining clear, consistent communication is not optional - it is essential.
Outside of work, Tandem Projects is very much a family-driven business. Michael’s partner Courtney plays a key role in our branding and marketing, and together with their young son and our unofficial site dog Ziggy—family life is a big part of what drives him. Growing up in the Sutherland Shire, Michael enjoys getting out for a fish whenever he can.
Adrian, alongside his wife Brooke who manages the administrative side of the business, has built both a family and a business grounded in structure and support. With two teenage children and two West Highland Terriers at home, he values balance just as much as hard work. Having grown up at Symbio Zoo in Wollongong, where his parents owned and operated the park, Adrian developed a strong work ethic from an early age. These days, you’ll find him following the AFL and Formula One, or working in the garden when he’s not on site.
We’re both qualified builders, but more importantly, we’re builders who care about the experience we deliver. We’re proud of the team we’re building and the direction we’re heading, with exciting projects on the horizon.
At Tandem Projects, our goal is simple: to deliver homes our clients genuinely love—and to build relationships that last well beyond the final handover.
